Torc Mountain, Kerry, Ireland
After a borderline transcendent experience during a hike today, I decided I’d start providing small quips along with the images I take. Mostly just my thoughts, methods, whatever comes to mind when I take or post these photos.
This image was taken around noon today with a ten second self timer on my 60D. I had been hiking a trail up this mountain (Torc, 535m) for the past two hours. I decided to add a soundtrack to the experience a few minutes earlier to really throw sensations at all my senses. I picked Sigur Ros’s newest album and as it played I realized everything was more or less perfect when I sat down on that rock. It was really was one of the better experiences of my life thus far. The wind, the music, the wide open sky and miles of beauty really humbled me. The saying “stop and smell the roses” really is applicable and I recommend everyone try and do it once a day.
